Cookie cutters and cakes

I was searching the web in preparation for things to make for the season 5 premiere of Lost and came across a wonderous tutorial and idea!  Carolyn, blog writer of Juggling Frogs, posted and wrote about a tutorial for recycled/handmade cookie cutters.  Just what I need to make my fish biscuit cookies this year!

I’m going to try to make mine in a couple days. Earlier today I bought a foil cake pan that I’m going to make the boyfriend’s birthday cheesecake in. So after that, the pan is going to be recycled, woo hoo! I’m thinking about making his cheesecake crazy colors (google rainbow cheesecake and you’ll see what I mean). He doesn’t really like all that crazy stuff. He doesn’t like cherries or strawberries or anything atop his cheesecake. He doesn’t like cake… however, he did enjoy the rainbow cupcakes I made a couple weeks ago. They didn’t turn out all that great, but he ate them up (which really surprised me!).

Well, I suppose that’s all for now.   I’m excited that I’m off for the next two days!  Yay!  More things to come..

It’s been nearly a year since I’ve posted to this blog, and I must admit, I had pretty much forgot about it.  However, with the premiere of LOST season 5 fast approaching, I decided I would search  the internets for some LOST premiere ideas.  Somewhere along the way, I stumbled upon my lost (haha) blog.  I have made quite a few blogs that I create, post a couple times to, and then forget about (with the exception of my MySpace blog, but I don’t really care for it’s setup).  This blog was no exception.  I had forgot the password, so I had to set a new one.  But anyway, I hope to revive this blog and keep it going.  I had a few New Year’s resolution’s this year, and one of them actually was to blog more.  Speaking of others (haha, LOST, again), they were:

• To use reusable cloth shopping bags (I’ve been doing this for a few months now, and I love it!  So much easier to carry.)
• To give up cola and drink 100% fruit juice (this one isn’t going as well… I’m drinking cola right now.  I have, however, started drinking juice everyday)
• To keep my bedroom clean and organized.  (This one is also going well, despite the fact that my boyfriend is extremely messy and disorganized.  This one has already freed me from a lot of stress, especially when getting ready for work.)

Well, I’ve done some ramblings and since I have the word ‘craft’ in my blog title, I figured I’d post a few of my favorite completed projects from 2008.

After eight LONG months of waiting, and four weeks of my sister and I clogging up each other’s MySpace comment boards with Lost pictures, Lost season 4 finally premiered last Thursday! I was so extremely excited. The night before they showed a one hour *enhanced* recap, and I was thoroughly excited about that too. Ten minutes before it was to come on, the ABC channel went black. I was mortified at the thought of not being able to see it. So being the uber Lost fan that I am, I called both the local station and the cable service provider and explained the situation to them, with many tears… well not really, but I thought about it. Luckily it came on, though it was 3 minutes into the show. The next night was what I’d been waiting for. It was very dreary that day, with weather reports showing my area under a severe winter storm warning. Around six that evening my sister Dori and I decided to brave the snow and we took off to the grocery store to purchase many Lost treats for everyone to devour in Lostie splendor. Earlier that day I had whipped up some Dharma Initative goods… but… we needed MORE! Luckily, the show played through, despite the many commercials, just fine. I was so afraid the storm was going to knock out power. The premiere was amazing in my opinion. Asked many new questions and made me already begin to count the days until the next episode. As a plus, we did get a snow storm, and my classes were canceled the next day! I don’t really see why though, the roads were fine, but hey- I won’t complain.
